Stefan Seniow

Stefan Seniow is a seasoned insurance professional with over 25 years of experience in marine and cargo insurance. As Underwriting Manager of the referral hub for commodity business at HDI Global SE Branch for Belgium, he plays a key role in shaping the company’s international approach to commodity risks and the development of the global commodity book, making HDI Global one of the top 5 commodity insurers in the world.

Stefan’s career spans roles at Marsh, Aon, and HDI, where he has developed expertise in underwriting, claims, and client management. Since 2015, he has led HDI Belgium’s Marine Underwriting team, serving as a key contact for brokers and clients across global markets.

Beyond his corporate role, Stefan contributes actively to the industry. He is President of the Royal Belgian Association of Marine Insurers (ABAM-BVT) and a member of the Loss Prevention Committee at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI).

He holds a Master in Law and a Master in Port and Maritime Sciences, both from the University of Antwerp. Fluent in four languages, Stefan brings a rare combination of legal insight, technical expertise, and international perspective to the global insurance stage.
