Shen Yan Liow

Yan is a product development manager at Global Fishing watch, developing tools to help strengthen oversight and due diligence efforts among government authorities and the private sector to better assess risks of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and compliance with international regulations. With over 12 years experience in international fisheries and seafood value chain assurance, policy development and ocean conservation, Yan is passionate in effective translation of cross-sectoral needs and challenges into meaningful actionable solutions, particularly in accessing vessels information needed for effective monitoring, control and management. She leads the advancement of a global vessels database and analysis tool at the Global Fishing Watch – Vessel Viewer, co-creating data-driven products to support the sustainable use of our oceans.
