Patrick Kirkman

General Manager Insurance, BW Group

After obtaining an MA Hons. in Mediaeval History from the University of St Andrews University and a Diploma-in-Law from City University, Patrick practiced at the English Bar before moving in-house with the West of England P&I Association where he became Joint Head of Claims. Patrick moved to JLT (now part of Marsh), an International Specialty broker in 2010; joining the Marine Exco where he had responsibility for P&I (also producing other lines) as well as geographic oversight for markets such as Greece. Patrick took up his current role with BW Group in 2019 where, along with his team, Patrick is responsible for the placement of all BW Maritime’s marine insurances and associated claims oversight.

Patrick is Vice Chairman of The Singapore Shipping Association’s Legal and Insurance Committee; Chairman of The Singapore War Risk Mutual and a Member of Norwegian Hull Club’s Committee.
