
Nelson McMillan
With over 20 years of international experience at the intersection of defence, strategy, and business leadership, Nelson McMillan serves as the UK Royal Navy’s Maritime Domain Awareness expert in Singapore and as the Assistant Defence Attaché.
Stemming from a background in frontline military operational service with the Royal Navy countering piracy off Somalia at its height, Nelson’s career now spans government, NGOs, and the private sector – including advising Fortune 500 companies – where Nelson has led complex, high-stakes initiatives across diverse geopolitical contexts delivering over $409 million USD in business value through strategic programmes and partnerships.
Nelson is an alumnus of both Harvard Business School and King’s College London, where his interests in macro-economics, business innovation, international relations and war ignited a passion for global security and business cooperation.
In parallel, Nelson serves as a Non-Executive Director to two non-profits supporting missions on digital wellbeing and ethical innovation.
Though he has a keen interest in many sports as an ex-England Touch Rugby international, Nelson is enjoying his foray into golf and hybrid sports as a new hobby. He is married with two children.
