Veith Huesmann

Veith is passionate about technology, insurance, and shipping. As the appointed analyst at IUMI, he is in a unique position to combine all three. Since joining the IUMI Secretariat in July 2024, he has taken responsibility for key data initiatives, including the Major Claims Database and the Global Marine Insurance Report. He also serves as the liaison to the Data & Digitalization Forum, where he focuses on gathering and contextualizing insights relevant to the marine insurance industry.

Before joining IUMI, Veith worked as a pricing actuary at Allianz Trade and gained extensive industry experience from the perspective of the P&I club Gard in Norway, where he was involved in product pricing and portfolio management. His entry into the marine insurance world began with his master’s thesis, written in cooperation with the Underwriting department at Swiss Re in Munich.

In addition to his corporate roles, Veith supported the growth of a fintech startup over several years, helping it establish itself as a notable player in the MGA space.
